At a recent conference hosted by Limited Brands in Columbus, Ohio, Transport America received the company’s “2006 Carrier of the Year Award.” The annual award recognizes one transportation carrier based on a number of criteria, including on-time performance, damage-free merchandise delivery, billing accuracy and overall exceptional customer service.
“Transport America is passionate about delivering superior performance and gratefully accepts this honor,” says Scott Arves, president and chief executive officer of the Eagan, Minn.-based company. “We are pleased to be recognized by a company such as Limited Brands. It is a values-based organization, and we appreciate our strong partnership with them.”
Mike Sherman, senior vice president of transportation and logistics for Limited Brands, says his company views its third-party partners as an extension of its family. “We’ve worked with Transport America for 10 years, and it is an honor to name them a recipient of this award,” Sherman says. “They’re committed to helping us get products to the right place, at the right time, and we value all they add to our business.”
