Enjoy a chicken fried steak, support the USO

Every time you sit down to enjoy the Iron Skillet’s chicken fried steak, you also can enjoy the feeling of doing something good for U.S. servicemen and women serving near and far. Nationwide travel plaza chain Petro Stopping Centers has announced its pledge to donate a dollar to the United Services Organization (USO) during May for every chicken fried steak dinner ordered at their Iron Skillet Restaurants.

Petro also will partner with the USO to launch a national fund-raising campaign at the Iron Skillet Restaurants in May to sell USO window decals for $1. Petro recognizes the USO in its effort to improve the morale and well-being of American service members and their families and hopes to see great results from this fund-raising effort. Petro hopes to raise $100,000 for the USO during the month of May.

“We want to continue to do good for the community and support our troops in Iraq,” says Jim Cardwell, president of El Paso, Texas-based Petro Stopping Centers. “We also want to give our customers an opportunity to contribute to the community.”

The Iron Skillet’s chicken fried steak, a signature menu item, is made from individually cut steaks, hand-battered, deep-fried and topped with hearty gravy, and served with a side dish of mashed potatoes.
