Barnett Transportation recently won a Gold award from Great West Casualty Co. as part of the insurer’s 2006 National Fleet Safety Awards Program. It was the fourth consecutive year for an award to Barnett, which is headquartered in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with terminals in Savannah, Ga., and Jacksonville and Tampa, Fla.
The Fleet Safety Awards Program drew more than 525 entries from across the country. It recognizes fleets in similar operations (truckload and less-than-truckload) with awards based on their yearend preventable accident results. The carriers then received a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Participatory award.
