Central States Trucking recently announced that it has acquired seven acres of land in Rochelle, Ill., expanding its operation to better serve its customers and further develop its customer base. The seven-acre parcel is located near the Union Pacific-Global III, just off Interstate 88.

This purchase marks the second real estate expansion for Central States Trucking in the last two months. In March, the company announced the development of a 20-acre parcel in Joliet, Ill., 45 miles southwest of Chicago, where it will open a satellite trucking office. A similar satellite trucking terminal is planned for Rochelle, about 90 miles west of Chicago. Central States Trucking plans to hire 10 to 15 drivers this year to serve its Rochelle facility.

“We are excited about this second real estate investment since it will allow us to better serve our customers in a more efficient manner,” says Doug Grane, president of Bensenville, Ill.-based Central States Trucking, which operates in six Midwestern states and employs 300 people. “We are truly experiencing unbelievable growth, and this investment will allow us the opportunity to improve upon our delivery of world-class intermodal service to greater Northwest Illinois.”
