Innovative Computing Corp. — a provider of enterprise-level software and services solutions to the truckload motor carrier industry — announced plans to release its latest product offering, IES Mobile. A mobile phone-based driver management and productivity application for truckload carriers, IES Mobile is designed to offer direct integration with Innovative Enterprise Software (IES), and the ASP versions IES Access Plus and IES Access.

The new product is powered by the Qualcomm Mobility Services for Transportation platform, available from Sprint on the Nextel National Network.

IES Mobile, scheduled for commercial availability in the fall, provides Innovative Computing customers with an affordable, feature-packed and easily-deployed driver communications solution that extends the benefits of Innovative software solutions, the company says. IES Mobile was designed from the ground up for truckload carriers and leverages the wireless data management and security capabilities of Qualcomm using the Qualcomm Mobility Services for Transportation platform.

Supported by multiple mobile phones that operate on the Nextel National Network, IES Mobile is designed to offer a convenient and cost-effective mobile communications option that will enable dispatchers and drivers to significantly boost their productivity and efficiency. IES Mobile can be used to complement existing advanced mobile communications systems in unequipped segments of a fleet, or as a basic mobile communications solution for an entire fleet, Innovative says.

Features of the IES Mobile solution, according to the company, include:

Direct integration to Innovative Enterprise Software (IES), IES Access Plus and IES Access for convenient dispatching of load assignments and automatic trip updates;

Supported by affordable and rugged Nextel mobile phones;

Integrated GPS location updates, voice, wireless data and Nextel walkie-talkie services;

Powered by Qualcomm Mobility Services for streamlined application and device provisioning, and enhanced data service reliability; and

Convenient, consolidated monthly billing from Sprint.

“This new mobile communications offering provides a compelling option for Innovative customers to fill out nonequipped portions of their fleets, or to adopt a well-integrated, affordable and reliable solution for the first time,” says Ernie Betancourt, president of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Innovative. “Additionally, our collaboration with Qualcomm and Sprint on this solution has helped us to ensure that we can deliver the reliability and ease of use that are hallmarks of the Innovative philosophy.”
