Stemco — a provider of heavy-duty truck and trailer wheel-end products — announced Thursday, May 10, that Jim Reis has been named vice president of business development, and that Donnie Wells has been promoted to vice president of engineering.

Reis will be responsible for Fleet Information Systems, leading Stemco’s acquisition strategies and developing business initiatives in Asia. “Appointing a dedicated resource for business development will serve us well as we focus on strategic growth opportunities,” says Jon Cox, president of Longview, Texas-based Stemco. “Jim has extensive experience at Stemco, and his leadership will be a key factor in strengthening our product mix as well as expanding our geographic reach.”

Reis, whose most recent assignment was vice president of sales and marketing, joined Stemco in 1985 and since has served in a number of management roles, including district sales manager, regional sales manager and director of marketing. Reis also was vice president and general manager at Garlock Rubber Technologies, an EnPro Industries company located in Paragould, Ark. Prior to joining Stemco, Reis was employed by Automotive Brake.

Wells, who will be a member of Stemco’s senior staff and report to Cox, will have responsibility for product engineering, process engineering, quality engineering, and warranty and engineering services. He has been with Stemco since 1998 and has been a key contributor in both the engineering and marketing areas, having served most recently as product manager for the seal and bearing product lines.
