Michael L. Oetjen has been named vice president of integrated logistics for NationaLease, the largest full-service truck leasing organization in North America. The announcement was made by Douglas Clark, chief executive officer of Cherry Hill, N.J.-based NationaLease.

In the newly created position, Oetjen will be responsible for the development, refinement, marketing and sale of the integrated logistics services product offering that utilizes labor management, equipment and technology in the development of comprehensive transportation and distribution business solutions for private fleets and transportation service providers.

“Mike brings tremendous experience in logistics and supply chain management to his new position,” Clark says. “He learns everything about his customer’s business in order to see the needed value from their perspective. This approach gives him an in-depth understanding of what their transportation needs truly are.”

Oetjen was formerly vice president of national sales for AmeriQuest, whose leasing entity merged with NationaLease in 2006. His responsibilities included sales on a national level, product development, branding and creating market awareness for the provider of logistics and transportation-related services. He served as central region manager for a global supply chain management company, where he was responsible for promoting dedicated contract carriage, total supply chain and transportation management services throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Oetjen began his career in the transportation industry as a business development manager for Ryder System in the Midwest and Midsouth regions. In 1995, he was inducted into the Ryder Round Table.
