Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems recently announced that it has earned ISO/TS 16949: 2002 Quality Management System Certification by the Vehicle Certification Agency, an independent accredited management systems registrar.

“This certification illustrates our commitment to uncompromised safety, quality and customer satisfaction,” says Mike Gottschalk, general manager of Hebron, Ohio-based Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems. Gottschalk commended the efforts of all axle employees in their performance and dedication to the high standards that brought this recognition to the division.

ISO/TS 16949 is an international quality management system that aligns existing American (QS-9000), German (VDA6.1), French (EAQF) and Italian (AVSQ) automotive quality systems into a single standard, thus eliminating the need for multiple certifications. The certification stresses continual improvement and emphasizes defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.

ISO/TS 16949 certification acknowledges that the supplier has the necessary systems in place for design and development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products.
