GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services says it has helped its customers realize more than $1 million in savings by reducing tire replacement expenses through its TireSelect tool. TireSelect is an online tire replacement tool utilized by GE’s technical advisers to help customers lower their tire costs.

GE says it developed unique, internal technology tools for its technical advisers to use when making tire-purchasing decisions. The TireSelect tool provides current price lists for most major brands and sizes of tires. GE’s technical advisers use this tool to consult with fleet drivers on their tire purchases and for use in price negotiations with vendors. Technical advisers utilize tire information to provide customers with model and pricing alternatives, while still retaining the customers’ quality and safety standards.

“Customers want to save money,” says Martin Schroeter, manager of maintenance and safety for Eden Prairie, Minn.-based GE Fleet Services. “Our TireSelect tool helps us work with our customers to effectively manage and reduce a key fleet expense. The combined effort of national account pricing, increased visibility of acceptable alternatives and improved negotiations has increased customer savings in one of a fleet’s top expense categories.”
