Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc., announced Tuesday, May 30, that it has been honored for its exemplary safety record by the Missouri Motor Carriers Association. Association officials recently presented Con-way Freight with the Fleet Safety Award – City Division at the 60th annual MMCA Safety Awards luncheon in Jefferson City.
“This award underscores the dedication of all Con-way Freight employees to safety, which is one of our core values,” says David S. McClimon, president of Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Con-way Freight. “I commend the drivers whose exemplary safety practices brought us this recognition.”
Judges select the winners based on the lowest overall number of accidents on Missouri highways per one million miles. The awards are sponsored by Great West Casualty Co., one of the largest trucking-company insurers in the United States.
