TMW Systems, the largest provider of enterprise management software to the transportation industry in North America, announced today, May 31, that it has acquired TMT Software, a provider of transportation fleet maintenance software. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

TMW Systems says the acquisition of Durham, N.C.-based TMT Software further enhances its leadership position in the transportation industry by increasing the company’s size to more than 1,500 total customers and driving annual revenues in excess of $56 million. Together, the two companies share more than 235 customers, and actively serve more “Top 100” carriers than any other software provider in the North American market, the companies say.

Going forward, TMW Systems says the combination of the two companies will give fleet operators of all sizes and in every segment improved access to the industry’s leading fleet maintenance software. This follows TMW Systems’ strategic objective of simplifying operations for customers by continually providing greater integration of various business functions. In addition, the more than 325 employees in the new combined entity represent the industry’s greatest source of skills and expertise for technology solutions, according to the company.

“TMT Software has been a long-time business partner of TMW Systems, and this combination creates a unique opportunity for both TMT and TMW customers,” says David W. Wangler, president and chief executive officer of Cleveland-based TMW Systems. “TMT customers will benefit from complementary products and the resources of North America’s largest provider of enterprise software to the transportation industry. TMW customers can look forward to even more robust fleet maintenance solutions. With more than 550 customers, managing 1.1 million pieces of equipment, TMT is a fleet maintenance software market leader in trucking, construction materials, waste and municipal markets.”

Current customers will be able to leverage a broad set of existing complementary products developed by both TMW Systems and TMT Software, the companies say. “With our combined resources and technology, new features and modules will be available to both product suites in a very short time,” says TMT Software’s president Rick Rosenberg, who TMW announced will serve as general manager of TMW Fleet Maintenance Software. “High-value complementary offerings such as an enhanced dashboard / key performance indicator module, business activity monitoring, and imaging will be available within a few short months.”
