Schneider National Bulk Carriers, a division of Schneider National, announced Thursday, May 31, that the company has been awarded the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care Certification.

“The Responsible Care Management System aligns well with Schneider National’s core values — safety first and always, and integrity in every action,” says Joe Kizaur, director of loss prevention for Green Bay, Wis.-based Schneider National Bulk Carriers. “We adopted the Responsible Care program to demonstrate our sincere commitment to our associates, customers and the public. This certification is a testament to the hard work of everyone on our team to ensure that our customers’ products are delivered safely and securely.”

Schneider National Bulk Carriers received final certification in March 2007 for its Responsible Care Management System. This certification is the result of a yearlong effort to ensure that its health, safety, security and environmental practices are in compliance with the program.

Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s global voluntary initiative under which companies work together to continuously improve their health, safety and environmental performance, and to communicate about their products and processes. Schneider National Bulk Carriers joined the program in 1995 as a Responsible Care partner.
