FTR Associates, a transportation freight forecasting and research firm, has scheduled its 2007 conference “America’s Freight Transportation Through 2011” for Aug. 27-29 in Indianapolis. Discussions and presentations at this year’s conference will focus on where the freight transportation industry is headed over the next five years.

The meeting will open with an economic outlook panel moderated by Jim Meil, chief economist for Eaton Corp. Panel members will include William Strauss, senior economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; and Bill Witte, co-director at the Center for Econometric Model Research. Following the overall economic outlook, the specific environment for each mode of transportation – rail, truck, water and air – will be presented and discussed by experts in each area, and will include shipper and 3PL perspectives.
