The 2007 Truckers Jamboree is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, July 12-13, at the Iowa 80, at Exit 284 from Interstate 80 in Walcott, Iowa. The jamboree features a truck beauty contest, an antique truck display and more than 175 exhibits, plus food, games and music. Parking and admission are free. More than 30,000 people attended the 2006 event.

Friday the 13th, the last day of the jamboree, one driver will be awarded a new International CXT pickup by CAT Scale as part of its “Weigh To Win” sweepstakes. Each of the five finalists for the CAT award received a winning prize ticket during a CAT Scale weigh-in, good for an all-expenses-paid trip for two to jamboree. There each finalist will receive a key; the finalist whose key starts the truck gets to drive it home.

The pickup truck to be given away is equipped with a 300-hp International DT466 I-6 diesel engine; an Allison automatic 3000 HS 5-speed; a polished aluminum 70-gallon fuel tank; a five-passenger, four-door crew cab with air suspension; an 8-foot pickup bed; polished aluminum wheels; heated mirrors; an exterior sunshade; keyless entry; a fog light; an air horn; polished front and rear bumpers; a dropdown DVD screen and player; and a combination radio/CD player/navigation system.

At 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, the Iowa 80 trucking museum will break ground on a 5,000-square-foot addition that will include a movie theater, restrooms and a gift shop. When completed in summer 2008, the addition will bring the museum’s total square footage to 20,000, enough to display 45 trucks at once.
