The new Kenworth Clean Power calculator is designed to help fleets and owner-operators quickly estimate the potential cost savings with the no-idle Kenworth Clean Power system. Kenworth Clean Power is a factory option for the aerodynamic T660 model with 72-inch AeroCab sleeper.
Available on the Kirkland, Wash.-based company’s website, www.kenworth.com, the calculator shows the difference between Kenworth Clean Power and idling the truck’s engine to provide normal hotel loads, including heating, cooling and 120-volt AC power, the company says.
Simply fill in the truck’s annual fuel use, fuel cost per gallon, annual nonworking idling hours (defined as truck and driver at rest), and estimated percentage of the year spent idling for driver comfort, and you can calculate the annual percentage and dollar savings, according to Kenworth.
