Highway Watch is asking truckers to be on the lookout for a man suspected of child sexual assault who is known to frequent truck stops.
Highway Watch stresses, however, that Russell Eugene Blessman is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who comes into contact with him is warned against taking any action to apprehend or confront him. Instead, call police immediately, Highway Watch says.
The Highway Watch alert went out Wednesday, July 18, on word from the U.S. Marshals-Polk County Sheriff’s Violent Fugitive Task Force for the Southern District of Iowa.
Blessman is a 51-year-old white male who is 6-foot-4 and weighs 360 pounds. He has light eyes, light brown hair and may have a light moustache. Blessman is thought to be in Missouri, although his whereabouts cannot be verified. The Des Moines Register has a photo of him here.
