The World’s Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics hits the road Sept. 15 to help raise funds for Special Olympics athletes and events.
Since it began in 2001, more than 5,000 trucks, big rigs and dump trucks have traveled more than 1,000 miles during the Guinness Book of World Records event. In 2006, nearly $550,000 was raised for Special Olympics programs in the United States and Canada.
For truckers and trucking companies interested in getting involved, registry is $100 per truck, and trucking companies can pledge additional sponsorship funds to bid for the lead spot on the convoy. Spectators can line the route or attend the celebration event.
