In recognition of military appreciation month, the nonprofit Hire A Hero program is accepting applications to award 122 academic scholarships to the military community. These scholarships are available to active and transitioning military personnel, veterans, National Guard Members, Reservists and their spouses.
Lincoln Educational Services Corp., the title sponsor of the Hire a Hero, will be providing the training in an effort to give back to those who have served. Degree and diploma programs will be available in automotive technology including commercial diesel technology, health sciences, skilled trades, business, information technology and hospitality services.
Three types of scholarships are available to those who quality:
Hire A Hero Front Line scholarships
Hire A Hero National Guard Scholarships
Hire A Hero Military Community Scholarships
All American service members, veterans and spouses are encouraged to apply for the scholarships. The application process involves registering for free at the Hire a Hero website and uploading a written essay or short video. All applications are due on or before Friday, Aug. 17, and winners will be announced in late August.
