The National heavy-duty wheel end brand from Federal-Mogul has expanded its line of commercial-vehicle solutions with an offering of Everlok/Axilok unitized spindle nuts for steer, drive and trailer axles. The advanced, one-piece Everlok/Axilok assembly replaces conventional two- and three-piece systems for faster, more accurate bearing adjustment and reduced maintenance, the company says.
The National heavy-duty product line represents a comprehensive wheel end package for fleets and other commercial vehicle operators targeting superior performance and minimal vehicle downtime, according to Federal-Mogul. Other National heavy-duty wheel end products include premium “Gold” (38 Series) and “Red” (37 Series) wheel end seals, matched wheel bearing sets, through-hardened trailer bearings, all-in-one differential and transmission rebuild kits, and National hub caps. Federal-Mogul says it also offers a complete line of Abex commercial friction products for virtually any medium- or heavy-duty application.
The Everlok/Axilok nuts are available for spindle sizes ranging from 1.500 to 3.480 inches and cover most common Meritor D Flat, Eaton, Ford, N Series, R Series and P Series axle applications. Featuring a dual-clip positive locking fastener designed for added joint security, Everlok/Axilok unitized spindle nuts help minimize wheel-end maintenance by enabling fast, easy and repeatable bearing end-play adjustment to within .002-inch tolerance, the company says; precise control of end-play is a key contributor to extended life of wheel end seals, bearings and tires, and helps eliminate downtime caused by common ABS system faults.
