The addition of Joe Alvarez as the new driver recruiter for Southern Cal Transport also brings plans for expansion and 50 to 100 new positions to the company’s location in Mira Loma, Calif.
A former driver manager and over-the-road trainer, Alvarez was born and raised in southern California. He brings eight years of trucking industry experience to his new tasks at Birmingham, Ala.-based Southern Cal Transport.
Alvarez says he is seeking drivers with a minimum of six months experience and a hazmat endorsement, and drivers without an endorsement will have 90 days to get one.
