Jaco Electronics, a distributor and integrator of electronic components and flat-panel display solutions, recently announced the signing of a three-year manufacturing agreement with IdleAire Technologies Corp., a provider of advanced travel center electrification services. The total value of the agreement, which represents a multimillion-dollar contract, will be determined by IdleAire’s ATE network expansion.

IdleAire’s proprietary ATE service modules are designed to provide the trucking industry with a variety of critical environmental, entertainment and power services – specifically for truck drivers parked at truck stops – via a simple, inexpensive window mount hookup.

“We are very pleased that Jaco Electronics, a leader and pioneer in FPD integration, will be manufacturing proprietary ATE service modules for use by our valued guests,” says Lynn Youngs, chief operating officer of Knoxville, Tenn.-based IdleAire. “Our growing network includes almost 8,000 parking spaces at 122 sites in 33 states. We estimate that to date our system has eliminated over 400 million pounds of diesel idling emissions, while conserving approximately 18 million gallons of fossil fuel.”

“IdleAire has developed a business model that combines an environmentally friendly business with valuable services specifically geared for hard-working long-haul trucking fleet and independent owner-operator drivers – and Jaco is delighted to support them in this endeavor,” says Joel Girsky, chairman and chief executive officer of Hauppauge, N.Y.-based Jaco.
