SkyBitz signs eight new customers

SkyBitz, a provider of Global Locating System (GLS) trailer tracking technology for the trucking industry, announced the addition of eight customers that are deploying its tracking solutions. More than 400 fleets now rely on the SkyBitz GLS technology to track in excess of 135,000 trailers.

The following companies recently chose SkyBitz over the competition:

· Summit, Ill.-based Altom Transport (www.altomtransport.com), one of the Midwest’s most respected tanker companies, specializes in petroleum and chemical transport. The use of SkyBitz tracking technology in 250 trailers is helping the carrier to provide safe, on-time product delivery and fulfill its commitment to service quality and consistency.

· Commodity Express Transportation, headquartered in West Columbia, S.C., is a truckload carrier that provides just-in-time delivery throughout the Southeastern U.S. The company is installing SkyBitz GLS 200 mobile units in more than 275 trailers.

· Global Tank Leasing, headquartered in Kansas City, Kan., leases plant storage and over-the-road trailers for the chemical, petroleum and trucking industries. The addition of SkyBitz mobile tracking units in more than 300 of the company’s trailers is a value-added service for its customers.

· Rapid Transfer Xpress, based in Otay Mesa, Calif., has become a leader in maquiladora traffic and international transportation. The addition of SkyBitz terminals in 200-plus trailers extends the company’s use of technology to offer 24×7 cargo protection and shipment visibility.

· Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc., the second-largest pistachio processor in the United States, is installing SkyBitz tracking units to provide better visibility and improved utilization on more than 150 trailers in its dedicated fleet. The company is based in Terra Bella, Calif.

· North Carolina-based Shelba D. Johnson (SDJ) Trucking Inc. specializes in the timely and precise delivery of furniture throughout the eastern U.S. The installation of SkyBitz GLS technology in more than 400 trailers is part of the company’s commitment to ensuring the efficient flow of product from manufacturer to retailer.
