AeroVironment, a provider of unmanned aircraft systems and efficient electric energy systems, recently announced that John Kim, former Ryder Transportation and Logistics director of national sales, has joined its PosiCharge Systems management team as director of sales.
Kim, who has more than 22 years of sales, marketing and strategic planning experience, has held various senior management positions at Ryder, Cessna Aircraft Co. and Bombardier Aerospace.
“John’s depth of experience in supply chain management and logistics will be valuable in helping operations managers understand – and monetize – the advantages of our fast-charging systems,” says Pat Dellario, vice president and general manager of Monrovia, Calif.-based PosiCharge.
Kim, who was Ryder’s sales leader in 2005 and was inducted into the Ryder Roundtable for his sales excellence, says he believes that PosiCharge technology will influence the way logistics professionals approach materials handling.
PosiCharge says its fast-charge systems allow users to eliminate the battery room and its associated challenges, thereby recovering run time, enhancing productivity, optimizing assets and improving worker safety. The product is designed to fast-charge each battery in the vehicle during scheduled breaks, so the battery never leaves the vehicle.
