Atlas World Group awards scholarships

Atlas World Group announced educational scholarships worth $4,000 each for three students in the Atlas family: Joel Coker, Thomas Lee Cravens and Victoria Petzold. This is the third year that the Evansville, Ind.-based company has offered scholarships. Candidates for the scholarships are required to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and must be full-time students entering their junior or senior year at an accredited college or university.

  • Coker, the son of Rick Coker, received the Professional Van Operator Scholarship, which is awarded to the child of an Atlas-qualified van operator. He is a junior studying civil engineering at the University of Florida.
  • Cravens, the son of Julia Johnson, a mail clerk, received the Chairman’s Scholarship, which is awarded to the child of a full-time employee at any Atlas World Group location in the United States or Canada. He is a junior studying music education at Indiana University.
  • Petzold, a senior marketing major at Eastern Kentucky University, received the President’s Scholarship, which is awarded to the child of a full-time employee at Atlas’ Evansville, Ind., headquarters. She is the daughter of Irv Petzold, a senior financial analyst in Atlas’ financial department.
