Kenworth introduces PremierCare Freedom Package

The new Kenworth PremierCare Freedom Package is designed to help fleets and owner-operators to safeguard their investment in Kenworth trucks through a combined preventive maintenance and extended warranty program.

It is the first time the Kirkland, Wash.-based truck maker has combined an extended basic vehicle warranty with a two- to five-year preventive maintenance program, says Dick Von Lehman, Kenworth PremierCare national sales manager for service. The Freedom Package can be purchased with the Kenworth truck and wrapped into a finance package.

The Freedom Package provides added vehicle protection plus all proper maintenance via B-level service (lube, oil/filter and 121-point safety inspection) and C-level service (comprehensive service with 147-point inspection), fulfilling the annual Department of Transportation, the quarterly California and most other state inspections, Von Lehman says. “If you do some calculations, the program really pencils out,” he says. “Cost per mile for maintenance can be as low as 4.2 cents per mile based on a five-year package.”

Von Lehman says that the program allows customers to schedule vehicle maintenance at any Kenworth dealership in the United States and Canada, plus it includes automatic enrollment in Kenworth’s PremierCare Roadside Assistance Program and Bridgestone’s tire discount program (U.S. only).

“This is a great package which helps to reduce downtime while containing maintenance expenses,” Von Lehman says. “What’s more, with documented maintenance by Kenworth at the proper intervals, it sets the stage for customers to receive maximum resale value for their Kenworth trucks.”
