ATA hires new director for IT & Logistics Council

Michael Snyder joined ATA today as the Executive Director of the new IT & Logistics Council (ITLC). Snyder brings extensive data management and transportation experience, including spearheading a U.S. DOT interagency effort on hazardous materials data warehousing and serving as the technical director for the U.S. Coast Guard’s fleet logistics.

The ITLC will hold its inaugural conference Oct. 22-23 in Orlando, Fla. in conjunction with the ATA MC&E. In addition to 11 educational programs on cutting-edge IT/logistics issues, ITLC attendees will be allowed free attendance to the MC&E exhibit. The Information Technology & Logistics Council (ITLC) is the trucking industry technical voice on regulatory and freight infrastructure issues in the IT and logistics arenas. Composed of IT, logistics and operations professionals from motor carrier, leasing, third-party logistics and supplier communities, with partnerships among shipper organizations, the ITLC:

Develops ATA-defined industry best practices in IT and logistics;

Brings motor carrier input to domestic and international technology standards impacting freight transportation;

Represents motor carriers before IT and logistics organizations;

Offers technical support to ATA policy development in IT and logistics;
