Penske Truck Leasing on Friday, Sept. 28, celebrated the opening of its new facility in Milwaukee, located on 6719 S. 13th St. The 15,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, employing 28 associates, offers commercial and consumer truck rental services, full-service truck leasing and contract maintenance. About 75 leasing customers are handled at the 6.5-acre location, and more than 500 vehicles are maintained onsite.

Penske says the one-story building incorporates its new facility design elements, features state-of-the-art technology and is designed to enhance the customer experience. A new wireless technology component is designed to allow Penske service technicians to integrate various vehicle diagnostic and repair software. To save energy, GE fluorescent light bulbs with electronic ballasts using 50 percent less energy have been installed.

The facility cost about $4.1 million to construct, and has three service bays, an automated truck washing bay and a three-lane fuel island with high-speed fuel pumps. Penske previously operated a facility at the same address, tearing down the previous building on a different part of the property.

“Moving to a larger state-of-the-art facility will enable Penske to better serve the Milwaukee market,” says Paul Prang, senior vice president of the Reading, Pa.-based company’s North Central region. “We have also introduced a three-lane fuel island and an automated truck washing bay. That translates to added value for our current and prospective customers. Now, with our expanded capabilities, we may add more associates in the near future as we continue to grow.”
