Old Dominion Freight Line — a less-than-truckload carrier based in Thomasville, N.C. — recently announced the opening of a new service center in Erie, Pa. The 33-door facility is located on a five-acre site at 3025 W. 17th St.

According to Mark Madden, vice president of ODFL’s Northeast region, the Erie service center will begin operations under the leadership of Ron Mendel, manager of sales and service, who will direct a staff of nine.

“The opening of the Erie Service Center will enhance the level of service we provide to our existing customer base in Ohio, Pennsylvania and western New York,” Madden says. “Old Dominion will be positioned to gain market share in points currently being served.”
