Donaldson Co., a worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, recently announced that it has partnered with Volant Cool Air Intakes Inc. to develop replacement filters for the light-duty pickup and automobile marketplace. Volant will develop filters for all current Cool Air Intakes, as well as filters to fit all of its competitor’s aftermarket air intake systems, using Donaldson’s proprietary PowerCore filtration technology.

Donaldson says its PowerCore filtration technology includes a compact high-performance air filtration solution using high-density filtration to reduce system restriction, extend the filter life and reduce overall maintenance costs. The straight-through fluted design of PowerCore, combined with Ultra-Web nanofiber technology, is five times more efficient than average conventional pleated filters, according to the company.

Volant says it designs and manufactures high-quality intake systems that are constantly tested and improved upon as vehicle models and ECM systems become more sophisticated. Volant says it also is working on new designs for air intake performance that make more consistent horsepower and torque for a variety of truck and SUV applications.

The Volant PowerCore filter will excel in airflow performance, filtration efficiency, dust-holding capacity and compact size, and will be backed with the PowerCore no-maintenance, 100,000-mile warranty, the companies say.
