The American Transportation Research Institute is supporting the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in collecting industry input and insights on the use of wireless roadside inspections. On Wednesday, Nov. 7, trucking firms will have an online opportunity to learn more about wireless roadside inspection technologies and how they might streamline trucking operations and productivity.

Presenters of the two-hour WRI webinar, “FMCSA’s Wireless Roadside Inspection Program,” will include Jeff Loftus, a transportation specialist at FMCSA, and Gary Capps, a transportation engineer from Oak Ridge National Laboratories. This webinar also will provide an update on the results of the recent WRI proof-of-concept technology field test and the establishment of a commercial motor vehicle roadside technology corridor and inspection station in Green County, Tenn., on Aug. 7. Conway Transportation and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, both ATRI members, were involved in the proof-of-concept testing.

Motor carrier representatives can simultaneously listen and watch the live FMCSA-sponsored webinar — which begins at 11 a.m. ET — from any location in the United States that has Internet and telephone access. To register for the webinar, send an e-mail to [email protected]?subject=WRI Webinar. Please include your company name and location in your e-mail, and please register by Friday, Nov. 2. Confirmation notices will be e-mailed within 24 hours of registration and will contain the Web address, phone number and other relevant information for participation.
