John M. Boler — president, chief executive officer and chairman of The Boler Company — announced Oct. 1 that, effective immediately, Matthew J. Boler is succeeding him as president and CEO of the Itasca, Ill.-based company. The company further announced that Gary E. Gerstenslager has been promoted to president and CEO of Hendrickson.

Immediately prior to his promotion, Matt Boler was vice president of corporate development and earlier served as the general manager of Hendrickson Bumper and Trim.

“I am confident that under Matt’s leadership our company will prosper by confronting and overcoming the challenges of the global marketplace,” John Boler says. “Matt will also ensure that the company holds true to the decentralized culture that has created motivated employees who respond rapidly to ever-changing customer needs. The company will continue to invest in people and resources to develop new products that support its customers globally. This has given the Hendrickson organization technological advantages throughout the world.”

Previously, Gerstenslager held the position of president and chief operating officer of Hendrickson; with this change, Gerstenslager will have complete responsibility for managing the Hendrickson business on a global basis. Reporting to Matt Boler for The Boler Company will be James H. Colley, chief financial officer; Nancy B. Coons, executive vice president of administration; Gerstenslager and Michael J. Boler, president of Boler Financial Enterprises.
