David B. Templeton recently assumed duties as vice president of human resources for Hendrickson. Templeton most recently served in a dual role, leading Hendrickson’s HR functions companywide and also serving as director of HR for Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems in Canton, Ohio. David Decker has joined the organization, replacing Templeton at Hendrickson trailer.

“This move will allow Dave (Templeton) more time to focus on human resources companywide by providing strategic direction for the company’s HR initiatives,” says Gary Gerstenslager, president and chief executive officer of Itasca, Ill.-based Hendrickson. “He will lead organization change, the assimilation of new businesses into Hendrickson, leadership development, performance development and the execution of human resource systems. Dave (Templeton) will also continue to direct the HR Excellence Team.”

Templeton came to Hendrickson in 2000 from TRW Inc., where he served for some 21 years in a number of roles, including director of human resources for the engine components group.

Decker will be responsible for all HR functions throughout the trailer division and will report directly to Perry Bahr, vice president and general manager of Hendrickson trailer. Decker will be a member of Bahr’s management team and also on the companywide HR Excellence Team.

Decker comes to Hendrickson from Kennametal Inc., where he served as director of HR. He started his career at Manchester Tool Company in Akron, Ohio, and was promoted to director of HR at Federal Signal Corp. following its acquisition of Manchester Tool. He brings a broad range of HR experiences, both on the corporate and plant levels, including experience in labor and employee relations as well as talent and management development.
