ArvinMeritor announced that Regina Salazar — director of operations, quality and supply chain processes for information systems — is the recipient of a Young Leadership and Excellence Award. The award, presented earlier this week by the Automotive Hall of Fame, recognizes individuals age 35 and under who demonstrate significant potential as future leaders within the automotive industry.

“Regina is a natural leader and richly deserving of this recognition,” says Almir dos Santos, vice president of business solutions for information systems at Troy, Mich.-based ArvinMeritor. “Because she consistently sets the bar high for herself, Regina has made significant contributions to each team she has led during her tenure here at ArvinMeritor.”

Prior to her current role, Salazar held various positions in information systems and operations. She was instrumental in the recent implementation of the company’s lean manufacturing process – the ArvinMeritor Production System – in the Americas and Europe. Previously, she launched programs within the company’s Detroit-based information systems group that align with ArvinMeritor’s focus of continuous improvement; these efforts have earned teams led by Salazar six internal awards for employee involvement.

Salazar is certified by The Association for Operations Management in production and inventory management.
