Ryder System Inc. — a provider of supply chain, warehousing and transportation management solutions — announced Friday, Oct. 19, that the Boeing Co., the world’s largest aerospace company, has selected Ryder to provide global transportation management services. Boeing has customers in more than 90 countries and is one of the largest U.S. exporters in terms of sales.

Under the multiyear contract, Ryder will develop and manage a customized transportation solution and common processes across the entire Boeing enterprise for common carrier services. Boeing will rely on Ryder for shipment planning, execution and global transportation visibility, and both companies will collaborate to develop an integrated global logistics network.

“Ryder looks forward to implementing best practices and processes throughout Boeing’s global transportation operations to support their industry-leading manufacturing operations and quality reputation,” says Todd Carter, vice president of global transportation management for Miami-based Ryder.
