Trucker Buddy names September, October honorees

Trucker Buddy, which pairs professional truck drivers with elementary schoolchildren in a pen-pal relationship to supplement students’ education, has recognized Clayton James as September Trucker Buddy of the Month, and Paul Moerer as the October recipient.

James, a retired lieutenant colonel from the Army, was a company driver for Seward Motor Freight, Seward, Neb., and now is retired from trucking, living in Kansas City, Mo. Moerer, a company driver with First Freight Express, Fort Atkinson, Wis., lives in Elkhorn, Wis.

Each Trucker Buddy Driver of the Month receives a personalized jacket, along with a check for $300 to spend on the class and $200 in Trucker Buddy merchandise. They also receive an IdleAire adaptor, a Koolatron cooler and a complete set of Airtabs for their tractor or trailer.
