McLeod Software, a provider of dispatch, accounting and enterprise management solutions for trucking and brokerage firms, announced with the closing of its FY 2007 books that it was a record-breaking year in sales, in the number of new and upgrade customers, and in the total number of new product developments, enhancements and upgrades.

“2007 will go down as one of our most successful years ever,” stated Tom McLeod, president and founder. “Some might think that because freight is limited, fleets aren’t buying technology. That’s just not true. Because freight is tight, the successful fleets are focused on reducing costs and running more efficiently. They want to keep customers happy and keep their trucks loaded and moving. In today’s economy it’s a lot easier to lower internal costs than it is to increase sales.”

McLeod attributes its record-breaking year to:

“Our top goal at McLeod is to provide our customers with products that are continually improving,” continued McLeod. “We developed nine new modules and more than 90 new product features this year, and each one was done because a customer requested it. Keeping our customers happy is a huge part of our success. We know this because the overwhelming majority of our new business comes from customer referrals.”

The company’s annual Users’ Conference drew a record number of attendees, exhibitors and press. Next year, the Users’ Conference will not be held in the headquarters city of Birmingham, Alabama; instead it will be held at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee on September 14-16.
