MHF Incorporated, an asset-based logistics company that specializes in providing truckload transportation for general commodities throughout the U.S., selected the patented Global Locating System (GLS) trailer tracking technology from SkyBitz for its 250-trailer fleet.

MHF, based in Zelienople, Pa., is installing SkyBitz GLS 210 mobile units in every trailer to enhance asset utilization and increase operational efficiencies. The ability to pinpoint the location of each trailer is an extension of the company’s commitment to provide up-to-the-minute information to its customers about their shipments.

“We researched several trailer tracking systems and felt that SkyBitz offered the best overall value for our company,” said Tom Wylie, president of MHF, who cited ease of installation and the battery life of the untethered GLS 210 among the reasons his company chose SkyBitz. “With SkyBitz, we don’t need to send the entire mobile unit back to the factory to install a new battery. We can complete the process on-site in 10 minutes. Plus, being able to quickly locate trailers and also offer our customers the ability to track their own shipments online is a real bonus for us.”

SkyBitz GLS technology is used throughout North America by more than 450 intermodal and trucking fleets to track more than 140,000 mobile assets.
