Peterbilt Motors Co. and its employees contributed a record $471,200 to the United Way of Denton County (Texas) 2007-08 fund-raising campaign. Peterbilt presented $330,000 of the donation during a Nov. 9 ceremony at the company’s headquarters in Denton, with the remaining $141,200 to be distributed to the organization monthly in 2008.

“Peterbilt is proud to make a substantial investment in the United Way of Denton County, an organization which works tirelessly in our community to help those in need,” says Bill Jackson, Peterbilt general manager and Paccar vice president. “This donation would not have been possible without the generous contributions of our Peterbilt employees, who gave of their own personal finances to improve the lives of our neighbors requesting help for a better life.”

Peterbilt is the United Way of Denton County’s largest single contributor, raising more than $2 million dollars over the last five years. “Peterbilt and its employees have been phenomenal,” says Lilia Bynam, United Way Denton of Denton County president and chief executive officer. “They always come through – in spirit and in heart – and continue to provide the United Way with generous support. Peterbilt’s gift means those people in Denton County who require help will have all the services and programs they need to improve their quality of life.”
