America’s Road Team recently took to the highway to make a special delivery for U.S. troops. Road Team Captain Dennis Day picked up a load for Operation Interdependence and hauled it cross-country for shipment to the troops. Operation Interdependence is a national nonprofit supporting the military logistical infrastructure by providing troops with items to make life overseas a little more comfortable.

“It’s an honor to help our military men and women,” says Day, a Con-Way Freight driver. “Knowing that I’m helping our troops with the load I’m delivering is a great feeling.” Day picked up products in Atlanta and took it up the coast to Bayonne, N.J., for a special Veterans Day delivery.

“ATA is honored to help deliver this freight to the dedicated men and women serving our nation,” says Elisabeth Barna, ATA’s vice president of strategic planning and outreach. “The trucking industry is proud to partner with Operation Interdependence and appreciates the work they do in supporting our troops.”

ATA’s America’s Road Team, sponsored by Volvo Trucks North America, is a national public outreach program led by a group of million-mile professional truck drivers who share superior driving skills, remarkable safety records and a strong desire to spread the word about safety on the highway.
