Contract Freighters Inc. announced today, Nov. 28, that beginning Dec. 21, new driver teams joining the company will have the option to drive a new 2008 Kenworth T660 or 2008 Freightliner Cascadia truck. Some qualifications and restrictions may apply.

The new, roomier over-the-road trucks are being made available on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 236 qualified teams hired. CFI selected the Kenworth and Cascadia models in direct response to driver feedback, which cited larger trucks as one of the top priorities. CFI responded to the request for larger, more comfortable trucks as part of its recently announced enhanced pay package, which also increased driver per-mile pay and incorporated a number of other driver favorites.

“We understand that for an over-the-road driver, their truck is their home away from home, and superior performance and comfort are critical,” says Bruce Stockton, vice president of maintenance and asset management for Joplin, Mo.-based CFI, a Con-way company. “CFI is excited to offer team drivers the opportunity to get into a brand new assigned truck. The new equipment, coupled with our recent pay package upgrade, makes this a great time for teams to join CFI.”
