The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will host a market research information session for its Wireless Roadside Inspection program on Jan. 17 and 18 in Arlington, Va.
FMCSA seeks information from the telecommunications, telematics and trucking and motorcoach industries on technologies, services and capabilities that relate to its WRI research program for trucks and motor coaches subject to Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10.0002 (Market Research).
FMCSA will provide an overview of the WRI research program plans and next steps. Specifically, FMCSA is interested in learning more about technology capabilities for: wireless communications and networks for WRI; collecting real-time information on vehicle, driver and cargo identification and status; and commercial vehicle telematics and fleet management systems. FMCSA also is interested in feedback on the WRI program as a whole.
The workshop will include opportunities for technology provider participants to share information on their technologies, solutions and ongoing activities. A meeting agenda will be available in the coming weeks.
Participation is open to all interested parties, but space will be limited. Parties interested in attending, presenting or having a display table must contact Jim Bunch of Noblis via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 202-863-2984 by Jan. 10.
