Phillips Industries announced today, Dec. 12, that it has entered into a five-year agreement for the provision of outsourced manufacturing support, or “shelter,” services in Mexico with The Offshore Group.

The Santa Fe Springs, Calif.-based company will occupy about 35,000 square feet of industrial space at The Offshore Group’s La Angostura industrial park in Saltillo, Coahuila, and initially will employ about 90 direct labor workers. The company’s Mexican facility will produce wire harnesses for heavy trailers.

“The partnership we’ve formed with The Offshore Group will allow us to achieve our long-term goals without sacrificing the high quality our customers have come to expect, while offering more of a global cost structure for the company,” says Rob Phillips, director of operations. “The expertise that TOG brings to the table will greatly reduce the learning curve and setup time required to ensure a seamless transition from Dallas, Texas, to Saltillo, Mexico.”
