The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration recently announced that it is accepting applications for $1 million in grants through its FY08 Operator Safety Training Grant.
Eligible awardees can include state and local governments, accredited post-secondary educational institutions, vocational-technical schools and truck driver training schools.
To apply, applicants first must register at www.grants.gov/applicants/get_registered.jsp. Grant requests can only be submitted to FMCSA electronically through the website. Applications must be received by Jan. 5.
FMCSA, in its announcement, stated that FY08 funds would not be made available for allocation until the FY08 appropriations legislation has passed.
