Maximus, a provider of fleet enterprise asset management software and fuel management solutions, announced Tuesday, Dec. 18, that it is working with the City of Austin, Texas, to implement an extensive fleet management software upgrade and deploy the Maximus FuelFocus automated fueling system.

The City of Austin, a Maximus customer since 1994, is migrating to the browser-based version of FleetFocus, and also is adding FuelFocus to its fleet operations. The Maximus AFS will integrate seamlessly with FleetFocus to manage and track fuel and fluid dispensing, according to the Reston, Va.-based company.

The City of Austin employs more than 10,000 people, with 180 working on the city’s fleet. Seven shops and 100 technicians support 4,800 vehicles and rolling stock.

“With over 20 internal customers and about 10 different external customers, it’s critical that we manage every single detail around the maintenance and repair, replacement fund, and fueling for all of our city’s vehicles and equipment,” says Bruce Kilmer, business systems analyst supervisor of fleet services for the City of Austin. “We’re particularly excited to do this Maximus upgrade because it allows us to leverage a state-of-the-art operating system that will advance our operations and ensure our success for years to come.”
