Nick Goodell won a Freightliner Cascadia just by attending the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference and Exhibition in October. Goodell, director of The Truck Guardian Group for ThoughtDrivers of Pittsburgh, was chosen randomly from 175 registrants Nov. 7 in a drawing to receive a Cascadia, Freightliner’s newest Class 8 on-highway commercial truck.

During Freightliner’s “Everyone’s a Winner” promotion, registrants were asked to attend a brief presentation on the Cascadia and the new Detroit Diesel DD15 heavy-duty engine. Participants had the opportunity to win an iPod Nano or a portable DVD player by attempting to unlock a Cascadia’s door. Everyone who registered received a Maglite knife set.

ThoughtDrivers, sister company to Pitt Ohio Express, provides fleet safety software and business services such as Truck Fleet Rentals. Its TruckGuardian Group provides safety and risk management services.

Goodell plans to use the Cascadia as a marketing tool. “The Cascadia will help us promote business opportunities for our customers by providing a mobile demonstration of the safety and risk solutions we offer,” Goodell says. “Both my company and I will benefit from this opportunity. I couldn’t be more grateful.”
