Ruling: USF Holland inconsistent with harassment policy enforcement

USF Holland’s defense against a racial discrimination lawsuit on the grounds that it had a policy against harassment was insufficient because the policy was not enforced consistently, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled in May.

The appeals court upheld a district court’s decision to award $350,000 in damages each to two African-American employees who had sued after several years of harassment from co-workers.
