Freightliner Trucks has announced the Go for the Green program. The promotion offers a $5,000 net incentive on orders for the Freightliner Business Class M2e Hybrid between now and Dec. 15.

Freightliner says the Business Class M2e Hybrid reduces fuel consumption compared to nonhybrid drivetrain systems – testing shows a savings of up to 1,500 gallons of fuel per year for a typical urban delivery. Other benefits, according to the truck maker, include significantly lower carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and particulate emissions; and increased engine and brake life by more than 100 percent in urban delivery service. Mounted equipment, such as buckets and lifts, run from an electric Power Take-Off without noisy idling – helping to facilitate quiet neighborhood operation.

“The Business Class M2e Hybrid is the smart option for customers who want a truck that reduces emissions and enhances fuel savings,” says Melissa Clausen, director of product marketing for Portland, Ore.-based Freightliner. “Our special incentive program enables even more customers to choose this efficient, economical and ecological business solution.”

The Go for the Green program is available for both the utility and city delivery configurations. For more information, call or visit a Freightliner Trucks dealership.
