Xata names Maeser chief technology officer

Xata Corp., a provider of fleet operations optimization, announced today, Oct. 8, the appointment of Bob Maeser as the company’s chief technology officer, responsible for Xata’s technical vision and the company’s research and development, quality assurance and IT infrastructure functions.

“As Xata continues to lead the fleet operations software market and expand its focus on innovation and product development, Bob is the ideal person to lead the charge,” says Jay Coughlan, president and chief executive officer of Minneapolis-based Xata. “Bob will complement the organization by taking a view of the market and its corresponding technical demands that recognize longer-term trends and prepare us to meet future customer requirements. Bob’s leadership in the technology arena and his in-depth experience with software and network infrastructure development makes him a tremendous asset to our organization.”

Before joining Xata, Maeser held a number of executive technical positions. He was vice president of technology infrastructure at American Express, where he was responsible for global service and technology provisioning strategies. In this role, he worked to design and implement IT provisioning for employees and internal development teams.

Prior to American Express, Maeser worked for Gelco Information Network as chief information officer, responsible for delivering and supporting Gelco’s multiplatform Internet solution across 42 countries. He also worked for St. Paul-based companies Agiliti, Comdisco, Hewlett Packard and NCR in a variety of technical and management roles.
