West Brother’s Companies has hired 30-year industry veteran Neil Bardill as its new director of operations. Bardill — who will operate out of West Brother’s office in Charlotte, N.C. — will be responsible for helping to enhance the company’s operational assets, including its 600 employees, 250 power units, 500-plus trailers, leasing and contract maintenance services, and warehouse space.

“Neil brings invaluable hands-on experience to running a growing large-scale operation, and places a high value on the teamwork needed to excel in today’s constantly changing environment,” says Craig West, chief executive officer.

Bardill’s background includes more than 30 years of experience in the transportation and distribution industry, including international transportation experience, and has taught college classes in transportation law and traffic management. He started his career in common carriage before switching over to private fleet application.

Most recently, Bardill was with Dean Foods as director of transportation for the East region, where he had management responsibility for 15 companies’ transportation departments, with combined revenues of more than $100 million. He also managed and specified all equipment purchases and leases.
