The American Trucking Associations announced that Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions was awarded the second annual Mike Russell “Good stuff” Trucking Image Award during ATA’s recent annual Management Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans. The award was created to honor those that creatively implement the “Good stuff. Trucks Bring It” campaign in order to generate positive awareness of the trucking industry.

“I am pleased to see an affiliate member take such an active role in improving the image of the trucking industry,” says Bill Graves, ATA president and chief executive officer. “The work Bridgestone Firestone has accomplished demonstrates that improving the image of trucking is best served by an industrywide commitment.”

Submissions were evaluated by an impartial panel of judges based on creativity, execution and reach/impact. The award is named in honor of the late Mike Russell, a trucking industry supporter and media official who helped develop the “Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.” campaign (www.trucksbringit.com) as ATA’s vice president of public affairs. Russell’s efforts to improve the image of the trucking industry through the image campaign were the inspiration for this award.

“We are honored to receive this award,” says Kurt Danielson, BBTS vice president of sales and marketing. “Mike Russell was a good friend and enthusiastic champion of the industry. Bridgestone made a tremendous commitment to support the American Trucking Associations beginning in 2005 by promoting the ‘Good Stuff’ campaign to our owner-operator and fleet truck tire customers. The ‘Good Stuff’ campaign benefits us all.”
